Art Deco 1921 Alfred Dunhill London Sterling Silver Vermeil Cigarette Case Mono

For your consideration is an Antique Art Deco 1921 Adolph David Posener Birmingham, England for Alfred Dunhill London Sterling Silver Vermeil Cigarette Case in very good to excellent pre-owned condition. This magnificent sterling silver cigarette case made by Adolph David Posener was the top Tobacconist in England at the time. Hired by Alfred Dunhill to craft fine, high end smoking pipes, cigarette cases, lighters and other fine goods, this cigarette case is a testament to the craftsmanship and the time period. Vertical stripes and engine turned designs grace the exterior with a monogram which appears to read 'JCH'. The interior showcases an excellent gold vermeil finish with solid stamped hallmarks and (2) old black elastic strips. The case has a hinged feature which allows the owner to offer cigarettes to themselves or friends with ease. The exteriors original polished finish does show wear from handling and use however the design is still strong with no major visible loss. Marks and scratches also appear on the surface commensurate with use. A few small dings appear throughout with the most noticeable by the push button closure. The interior of the case is excellent an original with a strong gold vermeil finish and some tarnishing from age and use. The old elastic bands are stretched, weathered and may need changing at the new owners discretion. The closure works however is somewhat finicky and may need an adjustment.

This cigarette case was examined by a GIA graduate gemologist to verify the authenticity of the stones and/or metal purity. All of our pre-owned items are guaranteed authentic.
